At the end of the village of Liebenau was a house, built by Mennonites, that
is abandoned and decaying.
We have no idea how long this house has been empty or why, but one cannot help but wonder.
Looking in the window, below, there are dishes as though someone had finished a meal
and expected to wash them, but they had to be abandoned. In the '20s, '30s and '40s,
countless Mennonite families had to abandon everything they had, either in hopes of going
to the west, or knowing that Siberia was their fate.
